Growing up in Seoul Korea, attending the University of SangMyung, and then moving to the United States, has given Kyung an unwavering positive attitude towards business, success, and her family.
Kyung began her career as a mortgage broker for Bob Castro and Associates. She found Bob to be one of the nicest and most professional people she had met. She states, "He supported and encouraged me to pursue more opportunities in the real estate market and helped me to become a Realtor." He continued to foster growth in her, and she diligently pursued her broker's license and started Bishop Realty. It wasn't always easy, but with her solid support from family and business associates, Bishop Realty has grown into a full service brokerage.
Some of the challenges that Kyung has faced while developing her business, have been to keep pace with the ever changing real estate market. She is constantly educating herself through seminars and networking throughout the real estate community. She also promotes her business by staying active in her neighborhood and with charity events.
Her most recent acquisition is an Allstate agency that she has recently opened in North St. John's country off of SR -210. She feels that having ties to Castro Mortgage, her own real estate brokerage, Bishop Realty, and now her insurance agency, that she can offer a true, "One Stop Shop" for the savvy real estate buyer. She can tailor the entire real estate transaction and make it seemless for the customer.
One of Kyung's absolute favorite pastimes, is spending time with her family and raising her daughter. She says that managing her businesses and life can be a huge challenge, but that she has outstanding support. "It is a balancing act between raising a family and working, but the number one priority has to be the family," Kyung states. With her background being in Fine Arts, Kyung also enjoys abstract art and drawings.
For women entrepreneurs, Kyung's admonition is to, "Live your dream and never look back. If you work hard, their is no such thing as an obstacle." With all of Kyung's hard won success, she still maintains the tight bonds with her family, while also giving back to the community. |
