Florida Mom Magazine had the wonderful opportunity to partner with BEAM, Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, for their Surfin' Safari fundraiser at the Crabcake Factory in Jacksonville Beach.

Vivian Southwell, BEAM'S President, along with a fantastic team of local volunteers put on a wonderful event. The Crabcake factory wined and dined the huge crowd of guests and sponsors with delectable treats and hors' d'oeuvres. The atmosphere was light and fun, filled with conversation, eating, music, a flip-flop decorating contest, and tons of door prizes. Special thanks to Baptist Hospital Beaches, Concept Cutters Salon, Raymond James, Liliana's Hair Studio, Geometric Marine Services, IronStone Bank, Shelby's Althea Viafora Kress Fine Art, and of course the Crabcake factory.

The Surfin Safari was a tremendous success, and the money raised goes to BEAM to help support the needy around the beaches area. BEAM can help with rent and utility assistance, but also has the flexibility to help with many different problems that many agencies cannot help with. These special situations include, but are not limited to, car repairs, car insurance, driver licenses, durable medical equipment, and prescriptions.
