PURPLE IN THE PARK - Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

I received a call two months ago from Susan Smith. I hadn't met her yet, but she was asking how we coordinated our Alzheimer's event. I gave her a few suggestions and told her we would love to be involved. Well, two months came and went fairly quickly, and I touched base the day before the event to just confirm everything was a go. April Chobert and I showed up to an amazing array of volunteers from throughout all of Jacksonville. Episcopal HS had students earning community service hours, Pancreatic cancer survivors were out in force to support a great cause, and of course Susan enlisted the talent and efforts of numerous friends and neighbors, to help put together a hugely successful fundraiser. Purple in the Park had face painting, Mad Science, Mayor Peyton's book program, Thomas the train rides, a band, speakers, great food, a silent auction and more!
Great job Susan!
